My name is Darin Van Gammeren, hence the screen name darinvg. A little over four years ago I made my first $50 deposit on Party Poker. I remember playing my first $11 SNG at my buddy’s house with a bunch of poker friends observing. I remember how exciting it was and how the “strategy” was to just survive long enough to get in the money. Well, I’ve come a long way since then. I’ve dabbled in all forms of Texas Hold’em. At my low point I was down about $800 online when I was playing low limit NL cash games. I started bonus whoring and eventually ended up back playing SNGs. Last year was a good year as a “part-timer” and I just started playing full time in June of this year. I’m currently 12+ tabling with a mix of $60, $114 and $225 full-ring SNGs exclusively at PokerStars. I usually get out of bed at 8:30 so I can hit the tables by 9:00. I play about 4 hours, take a break and play another 4 hour session Monday through Friday. I live with my girlfriend Katie who has a normal job so it’s nice to get my work done while she’s gone. I’ll play some on the weekends if she’s busy. I’m excited about making some poker videos and sharing some of my knowledge with this community. I’ll use this blog to give you a little insight into my life.
