Darin’s interest in poker began when he started playing live games in high school with friends for small stakes. He transitioned to playing poker online in February of 2004. Before considering playing poker full time, Darin earned a BS, MAEd and PhD in Exercise Science/Physiology. Most notably, his PhD was from the University of Florida.

In June 2008 Darin decided to turn pro because he was tired of working a fulltime job while playing over 30 hours of poker on nights and weekends. Darin decided to not renew his contract when it expired and officially went pro. After this decision, Darin moved from Boston to Philly where he currently resides with his girlfriend Katie. He enjoys the lifestyle very much and is completely happy with his decision.

Darin’s greatest accomplishment in poker so far has been to achieve Supernova Elite status as a winning player on PokerStars. To date, Darin’s best day was when he made almost $7000 playing SNGs. He is also frequently on the Battle of the Planets’ leader board.

Darin keeps a normal work schedule by playing two 4 hour sessions a day Monday through Friday. He plays $60, $114, and $225 full-ring SNGs and rarely plays MTTs. He did however play in the WCOOP ME in 2008.

Darin’s goals are to continue to make a good living playing poker and to maintain his supernova elite status. He will also play in the PCA and EPT Monte Carlo in 2009.
