Grayson started playing poker during his freshman year of college in late 2005.  A semester later he decided that pursuing a business degree wasn’t the right path for him, so he dropped out to focus on improving his poker skills.  During this time, Grayson held a “crappy restaurant job” to ensure that he had some income.  About three months later, poker proved to be profitable enough and he quit his job to play full time.

Grayson’s biggest achievement has been winning a huge prop bet early in his SNG career. He made a bet with bigjoe that he could win $25,000 in one month by playing only the $60 buy-in SNGs. After the poker community heard of this outrageous bet, more people wanted in on the action. Grayson ended up having $25,000 in side bets and was able to win the $25,000 in just under three weeks. This was a big deal at the time because no one had ever made nearly this much in one month at the $60 level (not to mention making over a $50,000 in one month with rake back).

To date, Grayson’s biggest win online was placing first in the Super Tuesday on PokerStars for $76,000 on May 6, 2008. Other big online wins include a heads up chop in the Nightly 150 Grand for $22,000 and a second place finish in the Daily Fifty Grand for $10,000.  He is presently known to be the most profitable 9man SNG player in the world.

Currently, Grayson likes to play the $114 to $335 buy-in SNGs and select $555 to $2,100 buy-in SNGs.  His playing schedule varies greatly. He will play for a month at a time playing for 35 hours a week until he gets burnt out. To recover from this, he’ll take time off and travel.

Grayson’s goals are to expand to playing Heads up SNGs, to play more MTTs, and to win a big, live tournament.
